Criteria

Radio/TV Personalities and Programs that fit the under-listed criteria within the eligibility year of    September 2018 – July 2019

PERSONALITIES OF THE YEAR (RADIO)

The radio personality must be;

  • Consistent on air
  • Articulate
  • Informative/Educative
  • Inspiring
  • Impactful

He/she must also have;

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interviewing skills
  • Good delivery in relation to research and investigation
  • Good presentation skills (analysis of issues)
  • Control of panel discussion (if any)

RADIO DJ

The radio disc jockey must;

  • Show in-depth knowledge in music
  • Be entertaining
  • Not be known to play profane songs on air

PERSONALITIES OF THE YEAR (TV)

The TV personality must be;

  • Consistent on air
  • Confident
  • Articulate
  • Informative/Educative
  • Inspiring
  • Impactful
  • Presentable (mannerism, gestures, costuming)

He/she must also have;

  • Good communication skills
  • Good interviewing skills
  • Good delivery in relation to research and investigation
  • Good presentation skills (analysis of issues)
  • Control of panel discussion (if any)

PROGRAMS OF THE YEAR

Program of the year must have;

  • Strong listenership/viewership
  • Strong influence on audience
  • Strong impact on audience
  • Strong impact on audience and society
  • Strong research-based structure

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Recipient (s) for the RTP Life Achievement Award must have contribute/contributing immensely to the development, sustenance and progression of the Radio & TV in Ghana

Radio and Television Personalities and Programs that fit the under-listed criteria, within the eligibility period from September of the previous year to July of the year of the awards night

  1. PERSONALITIES OF THE YEAR (RADIO).

The individuals must possess some or all the following traits which set them apart from their peers and keep audiences ears glued to their radios;

  • Must consistently present content in an articulate manner.
  • Presenter must present content which is informative and educative to the audience.
  • Presenter should inspire citizens to go out and make positive impact on the society.
  • Presenter should have good presentation skills. The analysis of complex matters should be handled expertly so the layman can understand.
  • Presenter should deliver research and investigations in an entertaining and simplistic manner.
  • Vitally, Presenter must be capable of handling interviews with ease and class.
  1. PERSONALITIES OF THE YEAR (TELEVISION).

 The individuals must possess some or all the following traits which set them apart from their peers and make audiences positively anxious to tune in whenever they are on set;Personality must exude confidence, class, style and gusto which excites viewers.

  • Personality consistently present content in an articulate manner.
  • Presenter should have the ability to inspire the viewers to go out and make a positive impact in their community and the nation.
  • Gestures, Mannerisms and Costuming must be on point, consistently.
  • Presenter should deliver research and investigations in an entertaining and simplistic manner.
  • Presenter should have good presentation skills. The analysis of complex matters should be handled expertly so the layman can understand.
  • Vitally, Presenter must be capable of handling interviews with ease and class.
  1. PROGRAMS OF THE YEAR (RADIO AND TELEVISION).

The programs must meet all or part of the following criteria;

  • Programs must have a strong listenership or viewership.
  • Content of programming must carry enough gravitas and influence to impress on audiences to make positive impact in the society.
  • Programs must have a strong research structure. They must be filled with educative, informative facts rather than just stories ‘pulled out of the air.’
  1. CHANNEL OF THE YEAR (DIGITAL & ONLINE).

All or some of the under-listed criteria must be met by the digital and or online channels to show a distinction in a crowded scene;

  • The ability to craft, produce and present shows that hold the audience captivated and leave them ‘wanting more.’
  • The ability to produce shows which inspire the public to go out and play a positive role in the society.
  • Producing shows which have a high viewership and or listenership consistently.
  1. GROUP OF THE YEAR.

One of the marquee awards of the night;

  • Media group whose personalities and or shows made the greatest impact on her audience under the year of review of the awards.
  1. HONORARY & HALL OF FAME AWARDS.
  • Candidates can be actual media personalities and or owners or media group officials.
  • Candidates must have played pivotal roles in forwarding the Radio, Television Industry.
  • Also, candidates must have influenced and or paved the way for the current crop of media personalities through their visionary acts.
